"Uplifting, disheartening, inspiring, enraging - the mind reels while watching
the documentary "Pray the Devil Back to Hell," even as the eyes water,
the temples pound and the body trembles."
Manohla Dargis (NY Times)
Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu calls the film
“inspiring, uplifting and a call to action for all of us

The Burlington Branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF),
in cooperation with other groups which seek peace, presented a series of actions
to mark the 63rd anniversary of the dropping of the atomic bomb on
Hiroshima (August 6, 1945) and Nagasaki (August 9, 1945).
As a result of an initiative by Burlington WILPF member Margaret Harrington,
the actions included the declaration of the first Nuclear Disarmament Day in the United States

Mayor Bob Kiss proclaimed August 6th Nuclear Disarmament Day, a march was held,
the Taiko drummers played and candle boats were floated in the Burlington Fountain, at the top of Church Street.
Speakers addressed the connection of the military to environmental destruction and US agression in the
pursuit and use of nuclear weapons.
